Get to Know the Dutch Tax System – For Individuals and the Self-Employed
Tax time is approaching. You can file your income tax return from 1 March until 30 April. Before you get started or seek further help, this tax webinar will help you understand some basics of the tax system.
The webinar will feature two parts. Firstly, our partner Blue Umbrella will take you through a basic understanding of income tax in the Netherlands for individuals. Key topics will include:
- A basic introduction to the Dutch tax system
- What are the main tax revenue sources?
- Learn about the core rules of taxation from an international perspective
- What is the relationship between your salary and filing your income tax?
- What is the 30% ruling?
Secondly, our partner Tax Savers will focus on income tax for the self-employed. For example, if you are self-employed you must complete two separate tax returns: your income tax return and your VAT (BTW) returns. You may also be entitled to additional deductibles if you are seen as an entrepreneur for income tax purposes, so we explain how you can make optimal use of any applicable deductibles.
