Dutch Police Issue Warning Over Phone Scam

Recently, the Dutch police have sent out a video warning that many people have been victims of a new phone scam going around the Netherlands.

The scam, which has targeted people of all ages including those in the expat community, sees scammers call and say they are from the police, bank or other known agency. With an excuse they eventually ask you to transfer money, to install software to watch, or they send a courier to collect your bank card with new tricks added all the time and scammers being very inventive.

Official authorities will never ask anyone to secure money, passwords, or install software. If someone has done so, immediately disconnect and share this message with your family and friends to warn as many people as possible. Watch the video (In English) below for more information.
