DGTL Festival: house, techno, revolutionary installations and eco-friendly toilets

Easter is coming. Along with one of the most popular house and techno festival of Europe: DGTL. From March 25^th to the 27^th, heavyweights of the international scene will indeed be hanging around in Amsterdam Noord. At the NDSM, to be precise.

So on six – yes six – stages and for three days, both indoor and outdoor, you will be able to listen to  first class DJs like Maya Jane Coles, Nina Kraviz, Rødhåd and Black Coffe along with local talents like Makam and Cinnaman.

Sounds from Ireland to Scotland, from Berlin to Russia and South Africa are going to be played in the post-industrial, slightly decadent, Docklands of Amsterdam. Everything accompanied by dozens of “revolutionary” installations: peaces of art representing unconventional way to produce energy. Yes, because the organizers announced futuristic solar panels, fire-spitting heat sources, mysterious “nuclear power drums” and a cycling waterwheel. We’ll see.

Please, watch also out for the 25 metres high iron tower dominating the whole landscape of the Docklands. It will be luminescent, so you should not have any problems. Funny note: ecological toilets will recycle the customers’ urine, a significant source of phosphate (imagine how much beer will circulate), in cooperation with Waternet, the Amsterdam water authority.

You have to be quick, though. Pre-selling already started, but early birds tickets are sold out. Take a look at the full line-up of the festival – video on the bottom – and be prepared to pay a discreet amount of money. But at least the ferry to NDSM is free.
